"The pavements resound to the clunking, silver-shod feet of the bible-black, the throwback, slow back, crowblack, swept back, slung back, get back, go back, Edgar Allen Poeblack, feathered hairskrees that leave subterraneans left for dead. Quite simply, it's raining bats and Gods. You've guessed it, they're Goths all right" ~ Mick Mercer

(Irvine, CA)

Christine Blu Ashton has been in the goth scene frequenting cities like Seattle, Atlanta, New Orleans and most recently the Los Angeles area. In Seattle and Atlanta, she was regularly involved in events helping promote bands and festivities. She kept a Photo Gallery of the Atlanta Goth scene, served on Atlanta's C6 bid committee and was a co-organizer of the C5 Art Show in New Orleans. She's participated in and organized various art shows in the Atlanta area. Her art can be viewed on her art page. She has had the privilege of helping Pat Briggs of Psychotica and Club Makeup fame promote his club night in Atlanta - Glitterdome while it ran for little over a year; maintained  the official Glitterdome website and ran the Glitterdome email lists. In Seattle she hosted two StarVox LIVE events that included bringing The Cruxshadows and Bella Morte to the Pacific Northwest for the first time ever.

She takes music and the bands she supports seriously [quit a magazine once because they didn't] and does so happily on a voluntary basis in addition to working a full time job at an exhibit design firm. She's written for Flipside Magazine, Digital City Atlanta and Carpe Noctem in the past. In her spare time she writes, paints, does photography and photo shoots for bands and  fantasizes about actually sleeping and dreams of boys with outrageous hair.

Some of her favorite things [in no particular order] are candles, the colors black, blood red, faux-fur, good earthy/spice smells like cloves, sandalwood and bergamot, four-legged critters, poems by Ty, bats, tattoos, Scotland, MotoGP, curry and Thai food, rain storms, lightning, cold weather, autumn, anything written by Caitlin R Kiernan, movies by Guillermo Del Toro, a good worn pair of boots, black finger nail polish, soft pillows, stripey socks and soup for breakfast. She hates organized religion and psychotic step fathers. She loves her siblings. Musical favorites include but aren't limited to:  And Also the Trees, Depeche Mode, The Empire Hideous, Sumerland, Bella Morte, Cinema Strange, Myssouri, A Midnite Choir, The Spectres, Fear of Dolls, Nick Cave, Deathwatch Beetle Repairmen, Southern Death Cult, New Model Army, The Chameleons...

"So take that look out of here it doesn't fit you
Because it's happened doesn't mean you've been discarded
Pull up your head off the floor—come up screaming
Cry out for everything you ever might have wanted
I thought that pain and truth were things that really mattered
But you can't stay here with every single hope you had shattered" ~Big Country
